Yokatta Brothers

Yokatta Brothers is not a band but a family that delivers powerful rhythms made of Acoustic Blues, Boogie, a Jazz background and roots music.

They met in 2017 recording a live session in the spirit of Fleetwood Mac In Chicago with the Finnish singer Willie Mehto for the label Yokatta Records. They recently met An Díaz, gospel singer, well-known in Argentina and Brazil for her Nina Simone homage project. Even if every musician has his own project, the pleasure to play together and create crazy moments on stage get them to propose SPECTACULAR BOOGIE, a show with 2 pianos 3 pianists and lindy hop dancers.

Musical creativity is their challenge, if you see the band for himself, you may listen to the groove of the rhythmic section with Julien on drums and Stéphane on double bass, a mix of Manuslide songs and pre-war repertoire from  his project Umanslide, some instrumental swing , some news song from project like LES TRANCHEES DU JAZZ, a travel in the history of Jazz in the beginning of the century.

Yokatta Brothers, plutot qu’un groupe, est une fratrie qui offre des rythmes puissants composés de blues acoustique, de Boogie, d’un fond de jazz et de musiques roots.

Ils se sont rencontrés en 2017 pour enregistrer une session live dans l’esprit de Fleetwood Mac In Chicago avec le chanteur finlandais Willie Mehto pour le label Yokatta Records. Ils ont récemment rencontré An Díaz, chanteuse de gospel, bien connue en Argentine et au Brésil pour son projet hommage à Nina Simone. En 2018 la rencontre de pianistes les incitent à créer SPECTACULAR BOOGIE, un spectacle avec 2 pianos, 3 pianistes et des danseurs de lindy hop.

Leur plaisir est la créativité musicale, en écoutant le groupe, vous trouverez le groove de la section rythmique avec Julien à la batterie et Stéphane à la contrebasse, un mélange de chansons de Manuslide et du répertoire d’avant-guerre de son projet Umanslide.
